Well, we made it Barcelona by the skin of our teeth.  It took three transfers after we missed our connecting flight in Coppenhagen (including a nice jog through the airport).

We spent the first evening making it to Sitges via an over-priced taxi cab.  The hotel/apartment was pretty nice - located right on the beach next to the boardwalk.  It was so nice it almost convinced us against going to Barcelona.   But we met Joel there and got hear all about host family and the life of a traveling student.

Tomorrow we meet Julee and the her boyfriend Jim in Malaga!

So Joy and I will be heading out shortly to Spain to visit Joel!  Woo hoo! I can not wait.  He’s sent out a few emails regarding some possible liver problems - but he’ll just have to fend for himself until we get there.  The funny thing is he’s staying in Cadiz - our first Semester at Sea stop back in ’02.  Who would’ve thought we’d get a chance to head back over there for a second round!   I can’t wait to check out the city, in some ways it feels like yesterday.

We’ll be travelling around, checking out Sevilla, Granada, Barcelona, and Madrid to name a few.  I’ll keep you all posted on the details.
